Hello, everyone, and welcome in today’s video, I’m going to show you how to connect WishList Member and Slack. Coming up.
Hello, everyone, and welcome. My name is Mak. In today’s video, I’m going to show you how to connect WishList Member and Slack. So what we’re going to do is we’re just going to come over here to WishList Member and you want to come over here to “Setup”. Next, you want to take a look here at integrations and go to “Other Services”. So here you can see we have quite a few services. And the one that we are interested in for now is Slack.
So we’re going to go ahead and select it and then we’re going to activate it. So the next step now is to click here where it says “Incoming Webhook App”, OK, now I already have Slack installed and I already have a Slack account. So you can see here it’s connected. So all I have to do now is to click on add to Slack. OK, so now here I can choose a channel. So I’m going to click here on this dropdown and I’m going to choose my channel and my channel here is going to be Mak and then add “Incoming Webhook App” integration.
So now I can click here on “Add Incoming Webhook App” integration, but if you don’t have a channel, this is where you could come over here and create a new channel. Now why is this important? Now, there are several ways that you can engage with your members for your membership website. So this could be through a forum, it could be through Facebook group and so on. But if you wanted to use Slack, I mean, this is a really, really cool way of integrating Slack with WishList Member.
So now I can click here where it says “Add Incoming Webhook Integration” and now I have this URL so I can go ahead and copy that. And then back over here now on my site, you see where it says “Default Webhook URL.” I’m going to come in here and paste that link that I’ve just copied. And of course, to make this work, I’m just going to click here on “Test” and it says “Test Data Sent”. All right.
So as I mentioned, I have Slack installed. So I’ve come over here and this is the channel that I set it to remember. It’s called Mak. And if we take a look here, this is what I set it to. So that test now it shows that it’s working because here it says “Added an integration to this channel,” “Incoming Webhook”. So that’s the “Incoming Webhook” and it shows that it’s working. OK, so now that I’ve established that my “Incoming Webhook” is working now, I can come back onto WishList Member.
And this is where now I can just give this name if I wanted to, but I’ll just leave it as WishList Member. That’s fine. But the most important thing here is the “Levels.” So this is where I can say, OK, you know what? When someone gets added to the VIP level, I want them to have access to my Slack channel. And this is where we can further make some customization. So here you can see I can say “enable”.
I can even have a custom message here and of course, here I can also have my channel. But of course, I’m not going to add any of these. OK, so I’m just going to close that for now. But when added, you can see here by default, they’re going to be added to my Slack channel. And this is very, very important. So if you have more levels here, you can decide what you want to do when people get added onto these Membership Levels.
So pretty much all this is done now. I’m going to click on “Return to Integrations,” and that has been activated. So now that means that I have a clear connection between WishList Member and also Slack. So all my messages that I post in the group and all the members can now see and interact with this group. Alright guys, that’s all I have for you in today’s video. Thank you very much for watching. If you liked this video, don’t forget to subscribe and bell notification.
